There were times that I felt that I was by myself. I felt that no one understood what I was going through. Sometimes I just wanted to just scream out for help. At the same time there was a fear that if people found out about me that they would want to disassociate themselves from me. Of course these feelings were in some way keeping people away from me.
As long as I present a smiling face and keep people at a distance I was alright. No matter how hard I would try each day my true feelings surface and torment me. I would soon come to learn that the more I knew how much Jesus loved me the more the loneliness and pain would dissipate. If you are struggling with loneliness I want to be the first to tell you that you are NOT alone. Jesus knows how you feel. Jesus knows everything about you and still loves you.
This world operates on a system that is different from God's system. The world loves the people that are famous, pretty, smart, rich, obnoxious, and those they deemed to be worthy of it. That love comes at such a price. I look at people like Michael Jackson who is considered to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known. It is so sad that he lives a life of desperation to be accepted and loved that he finds acceptance in his fame from his fans. What will he do when all of the applause will go silent?
That's why it is better to be loved with the love of God. It is a love that is unconditional. It is a love that doesn't keep a record of wrongs. I encourage you to seek the fellowship of the local church and its believers. There you will be accepted and love for the person you are. Jesus' love is the standard. Jesus says in his word he would never leave us or forsake us. When you have Jesus you will never be alone!
