Homosexuality

This issue has been a hot bed of discussion for years. Even for the church is has raised the levels of debate. Let's see what the Bible says about this issue. In 1Co 6:9 - 'Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,' Homosexuality is considered in God's eyes as an unrighteous act. Homosexuality dates all the way back to biblical days. It was just as much as an issue back then as it is today. There is pressure on our society to recognize, authorize, and legalize this practice. As a young boy it was absurd to see two men or two women embraced in a relationship together.

This issue hits home to me because a member of my family is living this lifestyle. Movies like Broken back Mountain and television shows like Ellen which are agents of propaganda for the gay lifestyle. They attempt to show us that gay people are loving and caring individuals just like ourselves. They try to communicate to us that we are ones that are 'phobic' when it comes to this issue. Now the gay agenda are now using 'civil rights' language to support their cause. Using language and terms that the civil rights movement used to further their fight for freedom in this country. Just recently gays have brought to the forefront the issue of gay marriage. Let's back up for a moment and look at this.

For all of these demands to met God has to removed the equation. Think about it for a moment. Think of any movie you have seen sci-fi, adventure or action format. For anything to be possible the possibility of GOD has to be removed. Sin of any value doesn't stand a chance if GOD is present. Why? God is the standard of right and wrong in the heart of a man. In Proverbs 20:27 it says 'the spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.' My approach to this issue is NOT to bash homosexuality but to bring to forefront all of our sins. The Bible in 1 John 2:16 defines sin as 'For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.' Homosexuality is a lust of the flesh just as adultery, fornication, child molestation, and sodomy is.

I have seen people have affairs outside their marriages. I have seen people have sexual relationships without being married. Should we recognize, authorized and legalize individual's sexual lust and desires? As I've stated before to have a society that accepts the issue such as homosexuality God has to be removed from the equation. Why? God is the standard of right and wrong in our lives. That's why I thank God that we are one nation under 'God'. If there is NO God then yes we can accept openly accept homosexuality. Yes we can accept drugs. Yes we can accept anything. Why, because truth then will become a matter of someone's subjective point of view. Subjective truth can change like the wind.

What is true now will not be true 5 years from now. That's why the truth of God never changes. In Hebrews 13:8 it states 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.' God will NOT confuse us by flip-flopping on the issues. I find it funny to see that homosexual churches. How can a priest that is a homosexual step around this? I think the argument is that if God is loving God he will understand and have compassion. Again here we go again. If God is willing to look the other way on homosexuality then he must be willing to look the other way on the other sins as well. What's my stand towards the homosexual? My stand is to love that person with the love of Christ. No, I don't accept or approve of their lifestyle choice but I pray for them that God will free them from the bondage of that act. I too was a sinner at one time. God had to deliver me from other issues that I was dealing with too.

The truth is God has delivered every real Christian from something. It might have been drugs, alcohol, sex, money or hate or prejudice, either way Jesus brought you out! I pray for my family member to be delivered from this lifestyle. My heart is broken because I have seen how this person has struggled over the years to find their happiness in it only to be disappointed by it. It kind of reminds me of an old Keith Green song 'How can they live without Jesus'. Before we all became Christians, we all are guilty of trying to live without 'Jesus'. We all tried our own agendas and beliefs only to find out they weren't worth the paper they were written on. That's what I find amazing about Jesus. He loves us enough to allow us the freedom to explore our own beliefs.

Even though the road slowly comes back to him, Jesus loves us enough to allow us to choose our own fate. I know most people still consider this option unfair. God is a holy God. Nothing unrighteous can stand in His presence and live. It has to be God's way.

If you struggle with homosexuality I urge you to stop what you are doing and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your life now! I don't know how he's going to do it but I know he can do it! I don't care how long or how much you have been in the lifestyle Jesus can deliver you from it! I don't judge you and neither does he. The world might tell you that you were born this way and you should accept who you are, but Jesus has a better deal. God would not have said it if it wasn't true. Jesus knows you and wants you to be free! If he can change me then he can change you too!
